Financial Accountant

Our client is an Anglo-Saxon entrepreneurial asset management firm based in Luxembourg and is currently searching for a Financial Accountant.

As a Financial Accountant, you will oversee the financial processes and controls for Luxembourg and its related branches. Your role will focus on accuracy, timeliness, and leveraging technology to enhance financial reporting and analysis.

 

Your Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

  • Maintain the general ledger for Luxembourg and its branches (Germany, France, Spain, Netherlands, and Denmark).
  • Execute and manage month-end accounting processes.
  • Prepare cash and GL reconciliation files, board reporting, and financial statements.
  • Handle ad-hoc financial projects and tasks.

Accounts Payable and Receivable

  • Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring smooth integration and resolving aged items.
  • Raise invoices (monthly, quarterly, ad-hoc) and coordinate with Fund Finance teams.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency.

Tax and Regulatory Compliance

  • Provide VAT and CIT information to third-party providers.
  • Coordinate with providers for regulatory filings and insurance renewals.
  • Audit and Payroll Support
  • Support internal and external audit processes.
  • Facilitate payroll submissions in collaboration with HR and outsourced providers.

Technology and Risk Management

  • Automate financial processes and enhance reporting tools using advanced technology.
  • Identify and mitigate financial and process risks.
  • Collaboration and Innovation
  • Proactively manage stakeholders and communicate effectively.
  • Challenge existing processes to identify and implement improvements.
  • Adapt and grow alongside the evolving business landscape.

 

Your Profile

  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, Chartered Accounting diploma or equivalent) is a strong asset
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial control expertise of at least 4 years gained in Luxembourg
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, including month-end processes.
  • Advanced technology and data management skills for process automation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A proactive, self-motivated mindset with the ability to work independently.
  • An innovative approach and willingness to challenge the status quo.
  • Commitment to personal and professional growth, embracing change and new opportunities.
