Junior Accountant
Anderson Wise is pleased to introduce this exciting opportunity for a proactive professional with excellent communication skills and a problem-solver mindset to join one of the world's largest and most successful investment firms as a Junior Accountant.
The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and directly report to the staff accountants and finance assistant managers.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a hardworking and ambitious team which is an integral part of the fund operations and accounting in the Washington DC headquarters.
Your Responsibilities:
Accounting duties & responsibilities (90%):
- Recording of daily bookkeeping and processing of payments and deal related cash flows
- Assist in the preparation of the accounting and statutory financial statements
- Assist in the preparation and review of VAT and corporate tax returns
- Assist the staff accountants and assistant managers on specific tasks
- Work on monthly reporting to the US team based in Washington DC
- Assist in the preparation of periodic reporting to the Luxembourg central bank and CSSF
- Assist on the audits
- Intercompany account reconciliation
- Electronic filing of accounts
Administrative tasks (5%):
- Letter or facsimile for business requirement
- Issue of audit confirmation letters
- Organize accounting files
Various current and ad-hoc reports/projects (5%):
- Assist in a wide variety of projects as assigned; and
- Other reasonably related duties as assigned
Your profile:
- Hold a Degree in accounting
- Practical experience acquired during the education
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft office
- Fluent in English (French or German a plus)
- Knowledge of Lux GAAP
- Peoplesoft experience a plus
- Demasy experience a plus
- Use of common sense and hands-on approach in solving problems
- Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task and produce high quality work even when working within tight deadlines
- Ability to meet ad-hoc requests from multiple people
- Energetic, passionate and positive can-do attitude a must
- Ability to adapt to new environment and subjects and to acquire new skills
- Excellent communication skills - both written and oral
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Strong sense of responsibility
- Ability to work autonomously and with self-confidence
- Intellectual curiosity / Pro-active in addressing any issues
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
