Management Accountant  

Anderson Wise is excited to assist its client, a successful Private Equity firm based in Luxembourg.

We are seeking a driven and dedicated individual to join their Finance team and be assigned to the accounting, financial control and administration of the Management Companies / Advisory Entities of the group.

The role requires the individual to be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously across a variety of entities and outsourced service providers.

You will be part of a small team and have a pro-active attitude to problem solving and coming up with solutions as part of own professional development. The position is to be based in Luxembourg and may require travels to London or other location as business may demand.

Your Responsibilities

Reporting and Treasury

• Responsible for maintaining and assume ownership of the group’s bookkeeping for multiple advisory companies across 4/5 European countries.
• Provide timely and accurate management accounts. Prepare consolidation (non-statutory) reporting for monthly, quarterly and annual results including oversight of implementation of Transfer Pricing mechanism.
  • Variance analysis, data modelling and cost reporting to COO and the senior management
  • Business analytics and controls of accurate accounting records and system integrity for consolidation
  • Translate financial and accounting data into meaningful Management Information (MI)

• Robust reporting of costs and key performance measurements.
• Balance sheet substantiation, close monitoring of debtors, creditors, accruals and cash flow position at group and entity level.

• Treasury functions including management of purchase/vendors ledger
• Working collaboratively with the local providers and administrators, ensuring they are informed of all significant matters on a day-to-day operations.
• Assisting in preparation of annual budget and forecasts.
• Preparation of invoices and cash settlements.

Statutory, Tax and Regulatory

• Preparation of annual statutory accounts of advisory companies under Lux GAAPs
• Review annual statutory accounts prepared by external service providers across 4 European countries and manage the audit process where applicable.
• Overview VAT considerations, payments and filing liaising with external service providers as required.
• Oversee the monthly payroll prepared by the local service providers and review monthly payroll accounting entries.
• Coordinate with local tax advisors to ensure preparation of tax returns. Review of the tax returns and coordination with local tax advisors to ensure proper filing of tax returns.
• Support the Finance and Operation teams in the evolution of the Finance function such as implementation of new ERP system, ensuring local providers adhere with the reporting parameters. Integration of appropriate IT solutions across the business.

 Your profile

• Degree in accounting/finance/economics (ACCA or equivalent certification would be a strong asset)
• From 2-3 years of professional experience within management accounting, controlling or accounting   in Luxembourg

• Experience in data-management

• Basic understanding of tax and payroll would be advantage but not essential
• Solid experience and confidence in Excel functions and dynamic links (e.g. pivot table, formulas etc..).

• Strong commitment and ability to meet deadlines.
• Have strong planning and organizing skills, pro-activeness, flexibility, multi-tasking
• Strong analytical and numeracy skills and intellectual curiosity.

• Fluent in English language. French, Italian, Spanish, or German languages are a plus.
• Proactive team player, self-motivated to meet deadlines and manage tasks efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and precision.

• Address income tax-related queries for international group entities.
• Participate in ad hoc projects.
• Handle direct tax matters including CIT returns, WHT returns, tax assessments, and tax provisions.
• Maintain diverse tax records and manage all filing deadlines related to Luxembourg taxation for clients.
• Coordinate between clients and other service providers.
• Review and mentor junior tax officers.

 Your Requirements

• Meticulous attention to detail to ensure high standards.
• Minimum 4 years of experience preparing and reviewing Luxembourg Soparfi (Form 500 and Form 506) / Funds entities (Form 205) / WHT returns. Experience at a Big 4 firm is advantageous.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
• Chamber of Commerce Cycle B Diploma in International Tax and Corporate Income Taxes.
• Fluency in English and French.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and BOB 50.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• 4-5 years of experience in preparing and reviewing VAT tax returns for Luxembourg entities (Big 4 experience advantageous).
• Chamber of Commerce Cycle B and Cycle A Diplomas (international tax, corporate income taxes, personal tax, indirect tax).
• Fluent in English; additional languages (French, German) are advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel.
• Familiarity with eCDF and efiscalease.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Valuation Manager

Your areas of responsibility:

• Evaluating complex financial instruments (liquid & illiquid assets)
• Onboarding of new customers
• Assisting sales in understanding customer requirements and explaining the services offered by the Company.
• Identifying and communicating local customer demands to the quant development department abroad. Testing and making sure the new solutions fulfil all the requirements.
• Daily customer support including price challenges, audit support and change requests.
• Preparing and participating in workshops and conferences on behalf of the Company

Your profile:

• + 5 years of experience working in Luxembourg for one of the large audit firms, consulting firms, banks, or fund managers.
• University degree (master's or PhD) in relevant areas (mathematics, finance)
• Experience and knowledge of valuation of complex financial instruments especially private equity, private debt, and alternative investments.
• Experience and knowledge of the regulatory environment regarding valuation, risk and reporting (AIFMD, CSSF circulars, etc…)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
• German and French language skills would be considered an asset.
• A solid understanding of the Luxembourg market would be considered an asset.

 Your Requirements

• At least 4 years of previous experience preparing and reviewing tax returns
• Experience in the alternatives space in Ireland is a plus
• Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is desirable
• A relevant undergraduate degree (accounting, finance, or business) is desirable
• Fluency in English is required
• Advanced Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with diverse client teams
• Attention to detail to ensure the delivery of consistent and high standards
• A commitment and desire to deliver high-levels of client service
• Ability to think critically and creatively, work under pressure and within tight deadlines
