Senior Accountant Private Equity Firm

 

This is an excellent opportunity to join a Private Equity firm headquartered in Luxembourg that invests in many sectors worldwide.

Our client is an international team, with almost all continents represented by their 30 staff members. Their working language is English, and they collaborate closely with colleagues in their London office.

The Senior Accountant will provide support to the Finance Department by handling operational accounting tasks. The successful applicant will be joining a team of professionals working to maintain good order and transparency of the companys finances and will report to the Accounting Team Leader. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who wishes to supervise entities under Luxembourg GAAP / UK GAAP / IFRS from A to Z.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

  • Taking responsibility for a portfolio of companies, overlooking A to Z transactions including maintenance of accurate accounting records, cashbook entries, expenses, and payroll record keeping and posting of all necessary month-end transactions (accruals, deferred charges, accrued interests, loans, etc.).
  • Reviewing accounting entries and providing supervision and guidance to more junior colleagues.
  • Reconciliation of Balance Sheet and P&L accounts, including intercompany with Lux and UK-based accounts and bank reconciliation.
  • Preparation of mapping to LuxGAAP: annual accounts, interim solvency statements, and assistance in the year-end process of impairments of the investments.
  • Preparation of consolidation packs for Group IFRS reporting.
  • Analysis of legal documentation (sales or purchase agreements, loan agreements, etc.).
  • Working closely with external/internal auditors.
  • Preparation of Luxembourg VAT returns (monthly, quarterly, and annual returns).
  • Assisting with other accounting projects to improve the efficiency of the accounting processes.
  • Preparation of regulatory returns (BCL reports).
  • Setting up and reviewing local and international payments in different e-banking systems.

 

Your profile

 

  • University Degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field.
  • Min. 4-6 years of work experience in accounting.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written).
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, particularly Excel. Sage BOB 50 experience is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good attention to detail with a focus on reaching high-level quality standards.
  • Good with numbers and analytical competence.
  • Good and effective communication skills and willingness to coach more junior team members.
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
  • The ideal candidate is a team player, with a positive demeanor, who is open-minded and flexible.
