Financial Controller – Private Equity
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our finance team. You will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial reporting of our private equity funds. This position involves close collaboration with the investment and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance, and efficient fund management processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, private equity, or asset management, and possess excellent analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Reporting & Accounting: Review the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements for private equity funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Lux GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Investor Reporting: Coordinate and prepare capital account statements, distributions, and performance reports for investors, while addressing any ad hoc investor queries.
• Fund Operations: Manage the day-to-day operations of the private equity funds, including cash management, fund expenses, capital calls, distributions, and the general ledger.
• Audit & Compliance: Lead the coordination of external audits, ensuring the funds are in compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance fund reporting, streamline operational processes, and implement best practices in financial controls and compliance.
Key Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification is a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in accounting or audit, preferably in private equity or asset management.
• Strong understanding of fund structures, financial instruments. • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards. • Proficiency in accounting and financial reporting software, as well as advanced Excel
skills. • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of
attention to detail. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively
with internal teams, investors, and external partners. • Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
