Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and rapidly expanding fund administrator who are seeking an experienced, talented, and highly motivated Senior Legal Counsel to manage a team of four legal professionals. This role offers the unique opportunity to work across multiple jurisdictions, with a primary focus on Luxembourg and Ireland. You will be part of a fast-paced environment, providing specialist legal advice and support to a growing business.
As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will report into the Group Head of Legal and play a pivotal role, offering pro-active, professional, and creative legal support to the business. Your responsibilities will span a wide range of legal matters, with a strong emphasis on corporate/commercial law, alternative investment funds, and financial services regulation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Legal Expertise: Provide specialized legal advice in financial services regulation, alternative investment funds, data protection, and commercial contracts.
• Team Management: Oversee and manage a team of lawyers within the Group’s Legal Team, ensuring high standards of work and professional development.
• Collaboration: Work closely with internal business teams, as well as support functions like Compliance and Risk, to provide integrated legal solutions.
• Negotiation: Represent the company in negotiations with third parties, including suppliers and clients, ensuring the company's interests are protected.
• Legislative Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate the impact of evolving legislative, regulatory, and industry strategies on the alternative investment funds industry.
• Compliance: Pro-actively maintain and enhance awareness among business employees of relevant laws and regulations, ensuring compliance across the board.
• Documentation: Streamline existing documentation, corporate policies, and precedents to improve efficiency and compliance.
• Project Leadership: Represent the Legal team in group-wide projects and initiatives, ensuring legal considerations are fully integrated.
• Close Collaboration: Work closely with the Group Head of Legal to align legal strategies with overall business objectives.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:
• Qualifications: Master of Laws or Bachelor's Degree in Law with strong academic credentials.
• Professional Standing: Admitted as a solicitor with 10+ years PQE. • Fluency in English and French is essential. • Strong legal experience in corporate law, regulation, and alternative investment funds. • Ability to articulate clear, commercially focused advice with high-quality written and verbal
communication skills. • Strong attention to detail, with proven effectiveness in managing complex projects and
teams to meet demanding deadlines. • A proactive, can-do attitude, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to identify, focus, and prioritize key issues, and quickly adapt to changing circumstances.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel. • A combination of in-house counsel experience in a financial services business and legal
experience in a top-tier law firm with international clients.
