This is your chance to join a prestigious global company in their Luxembourg office. Our client, a distinguished alternative investment group, specializes in complex investments, focusing on private equity, private debt, and real estate.

They are looking to expand their finance team with a skilled Financial Accountant. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the Finance and Accounting Department, managing operational accounting activities.

You will collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals to ensure the financial integrity and transparency of the company, reporting directly to the Finance Manager.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Handling daily financial activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and managing both accounts receivable and payable
  • Creating monthly financial reports, with a focus on accruals and deferrals
  • Drafting yearly financial statements for both holding and service entities
  • Preparing diverse financial documents for both internal and external purposes
  • Acting as the liaison with tax advisors and auditors
  • Preparing and filing VAT returns
  • Issuing invoices, aiding in the budgeting process, and calculating interest
  • Contributing to specific projects and tasks as directed by management
  • Performing a range of administrative tasks and other duties as needed

Your profile:

  • University degree with ideally additional accounting certifications such as ACCA, CPA, Expert Comptable or equivalent
  • Around 4 years of accounting experience in a similar position
  • Fluent in both written and spoken German and English, French is considered an advantage
  • Hands-on experience with annual financial statements under IFRS, Lux GAAP, German accounting standards, and tax laws, including VAT returns experience
  • Capability to enhance existing processes
  • Proficiency in WORKDAY / DATEV, MS Office, and Sage BoB is beneficial
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently and proactively
  • Excellent teamwork and ability to work under pressure, and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, along with a strong numerical aptitude
