Chief Operations Officer – Private Banking

Medium-Sized International Private Bank

 

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced operations professional to join a well-established international private bank in Luxembourg. As a Private Banking Chief Operations Officer (PB COO). You will be actively developing the full operational function of the bank, with a direct impact on its strategic direction and long-term efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of banking operations, including client onboarding, lifecycle management, payments, securities processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Supervise and guide the operations team, ensuring effectiveness, reliability, and quality of service delivery.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, with a particular focus on digitalisation and automation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements in Luxembourg and applicable cross-border jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate closely with senior management across departments including Risk, Compliance, Legal, IT, and Front Office.
  • Manage external service providers and maintain oversight of outsourcing arrangements in line with regulatory expectations.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 10–15 years of professional experience in private banking or wealth management operations.
  • Strong leadership background with demonstrated ability to manage teams and implement operational strategy.
  • Deep understanding of the Luxembourg regulatory and banking framework.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives and core banking platforms is highly desirable.
  • Fluent in English and French is necessary, while German or other language would be an asset.
  • Pragmatic, structured, and comfortable working within an international and evolving environment.
