Operational Risk Specialist – Fixed term contract

For one of our clients, an international Asset Manager, we are assisting the recruitment of a position of Operational Risk Specialist based in Luxembourg. This is a fixed term contract till mid November 2025.

This role is part of the Global Risk Management function and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact for the company on a Global scale.

This position suits a person that has at least 5 years’ experience working in an international Operational Risk position in the Financial services sector. Experience within Asset Management would be preferred. Somebody that is used to working in a dynamic and international working environment.

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide risk management leadership to the European Distribution business, ensuring alignment with the company’s risk management framework and Group Risk Appetite.
• Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, helping them understand and manage their risk profiles effectively.
• Support business scenario planning exercises, ensuring timely execution.
• Ensure risk data is captured and maintained, with appropriate controls, risk appetite measures, and key risk indicators (KRIs) in place.
• Coordinate responses to major incidents and events, ensuring escalation and mitigation actions are carried out, with insightful analysis and reporting.
• Conduct risk-based analytical reviews, providing assurance and guidance to embed effective controls during material change programmes.
• Deliver meaningful risk and control reporting to senior management and regional committees, highlighting key risks and remediation programs.
• Proactively review existing practices, recommending innovative risk solutions that prioritise positive customer outcomes.
• Standardise approaches across risk management issues and events, driving consistency in outputs.
• Lead or support business transformation programmes, ensuring robust risk management practices are embedded.
• Increase risk awareness by supporting risk management training and education within the business.

Your Profile:

• You have at least 5 years’ experience working in an international Operational Risk position in the Financial services sector. Experience within Asset Management would be preferred.

• Experience coordinating major operational risk incident and events
• You are fluent in English both written and spoken. Any other European language would be considered a benefit.
• Highly analytical mindset with expertise in relevant tools.
• Pragmatic problem solver with a hands-on approach and ability to prioritise effectively.
• Proven ability to maintain high-quality standards under pressure.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Resilient, adaptable, and demonstrates sound judgment.
