Finance Manager
An outstanding opportunity to join a dynamic, global leader in investment management. As an enthusiastic and collaborative accounting professional with deep expertise in the alternative asset management industry, you will be a technically skilled problem-solver who will play a key role in evaluating, designing, and implementing robust financial controls to support a scalable, best-in- class infrastructure, with a particular focus on private investments and SPVs. Prior experience in public accounting, alongside direct work with private equity firms, hedge funds, and third-party service providers, is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Fund Accounting and Product Control
- Prepare internal and external financial reports, focusing on private investments and SPVs, and ensure the accuracy of accounting systems and records.
- Support the company’s operational transactions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Act as a technical resource, providing subject matter expertise organization-wide. • Perform fund accounting tasks, including reconciliations, valuations, capital calls/distributions, NAV review, and consolidation of subsidiaries. • Monitor third-party service providers daily to ensure they meet performance expectations and maintain accurate financial records. • Analyze information critically to offer management insights through process improvements and timely report delivery.
- Produce consistent intra- and end-of-day deliverables, ensuring accurate financial records across systems. • Work with Middle Office and Tax teams to understand, review, and process transactions, investigating and resolving discrepancies. • Assess and suggest improvements for transaction processing and system enhancements. • Participate in audits, valuation of Level 1, 2, and 3 investments, performance and attribution analysis, and complex IRR and waterfall calculations. • Ensure the timely completion of periodic and annual financial accounts in Luxembourg and other European jurisdictions. • Assist with compliance matters, including CIT and VAT returns. • Apply technical knowledge of hybrid financial instruments, such as TPECs and CLNs. • Engage in cash management, deal closing, and other operational matters impacting funds and SPVs.
Internal Controls
- Document and strategically index significant policies and procedures, working with department heads to implement scalable, well-documented practices.
- Benchmark processes against industry best practices.
- Provide guidance on work documentation and control consistency. • Identify operational risk trends, escalate control weaknesses, and suggest improvements.
- Coordinate with management to assess and enhance control adequacy, escalating issues as needed. • Support independent financial audits, minimizing impact on production. • Oversee critical third-party service providers, particularly administrators, and assess outsourcing controls.
- Coordinate across departments to ensure timely project completion and effective management reporting.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in public accounting or similar experience (including at least 3 years servicing alternative asset managers).
- Exposure to a variety of alternative asset management firms (hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate, etc.) and their service providers.
- BS/BA in Accounting; CPA or equivalent required. • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, Lux GAAP, IFRS, and financial reporting controls.
- Familiarity with general ledger and private equity/SPV accounting software.
- Ability to read complex documents, synthesize and summarize important facts

- Proven experience in managing client relationships
- Ability to manage and motivate team members at all levels
