Anderson Wise is excited to share this exciting opportunity for an experienced legal professional to utilise their experience joining the growing office of a leading insurance company. Reporting directly to the Head of Legal and Company Secretary based in Luxembourg you will have an excellent opportunity to continue your development as you assist in maintaining the industry's high standards within the group.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

Regulatory:

 

  • Identify and monitor relevant Luxembourgish, German, Austrian and Italian legal and regulatory developments and EU regulations and guidelines.
  • Conduct legal research on various matters.
  • Provide regular updates on legal and regulatory developments and trends.
  • Contribute to the drafting of legal reports and internal communications.
  • Work on briefing notes to outsourcers.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and training, coordinate know-how meetings and actively share knowledge.
  • Manage, control and review legal documents.
  • Capture internal know-how and ensure appropriate dissemination.
  • Provide input and advice for the development of relevant policies and procedures.

 

Insurance Product:

 

  • Be involved in resolving potential issues linked to the insurance products together with their actuarial and business teams.
  • Conduct legal research on various matters.
  • Liaise with external legal counsels when necessary.
  • Provide regular updates on legal issues.
  • Contribute to the drafting of reports and internal communications.
  • Work on briefing notes to outsourcers
  • Manage, control and review legal documents.
  • Provide input and advice for the development of relevant policies and procedures.

 

Company Secretary:

 

  • Prepare, coordinate, attend and minute meetings.
  • Ensure day-to-day compliance with the relevant applicable laws.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of the board, committee and shareholders meetings, including drafting agendas and following up on all action points.
  • Attend meetings and take timely, effective and accurate minutes.
  • Follow and maintain internal processes and policies, ensure alignment with Group policies, and coordinate the annual review of policies and addendums.
  • Maintain the governance framework documents and terms of reference, as well as the organisational chart, list of authorised signatories and internal database up to date.
  • Act as point of contact for board members and internal and external advisers.
  • Respond to KYC/DD queries and information requests from internal teams and external advisers.
  • Prepare regulatory applications.
  • Support the provision of inductions and ongoing training to directors.

 

Your Profile

 

  • EU-qualified lawyer.
  • 3+ years of experience as a practising or in-house lawyer in Luxembourg.
  • Multi-jurisdictional experience.
  • Outstanding organisational and excellent communication skills.
  • Sound understanding of the legal and regulatory requirements in Luxembourg and other EU jurisdictions.
  • Experience in legal and regulatory monitoring.
  • Proficient in English. German, French or Italian would be a plus.
  • Excellent drafting skills, experience in minute-taking, attention to detail and quality.
  • Excellent time management and prioritising skills required to address a large number of requests within set deadlines.
  • Good command of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.) and Adobe, experience with electronic board packs (Board Intelligence).
  • Able to demonstrate key behavioural capabilities, including ownership, proactivity, teamwork, and agility.
