Job Description

Our Client is a fast-evolving investment firm in the process of obtaining its MiFID in Luxembourg.

They are seeking a Conducting Officer to lead its broker/dealer placing activities and associated finance and operations functions.

This strategic role requires a seasoned professional capable of ensuring regulatory compliance, operational robustness, and strong financial governance.

 

Your areas of responsibility:

Key Functional Responsibilities

  • Personally oversee activities related to the placing of debt instruments, ensuring:
    • Risk identification and mitigation
    • Compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies
    • Adherence to approved budgets and operational limits
    • Transactional profitability and sustainable business growth
  • Supervise trade execution and settlement, ensuring timely and accurate operations
  • Advise clients (including portfolio companies) on structuring and timing of bond issuances
  • Oversee communication with lead bookrunners and conclusion of buy/sell agreements
  • Implement and monitor front-to-back trade processes, controls, and reconciliations
  • Coordinate financial reporting and ensure transactions are accurately booked
  • Collaborate closely with Risk and Compliance on limit monitoring and breach escalation
  • Oversee junior staff and internal audit activities
  • Support the preparation of internal and regulatory reports

Strategic & Regulatory Responsibilities (as Authorised Manager)

  • Ensure effective day-to-day management in line with strategic objectives and regulatory expectations
  • Define and implement business strategy within risk appetite and governance framework
  • Maintain sound internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Promote a strong compliance and risk culture firm-wide
  • Ensure adequate resources, systems, and infrastructure are in place
  • Maintain robust oversight of the firm’s governance and risk profile
  • Engage proactively with the CSSF, internal stakeholders, and the Board
  • Lead corrective actions on operational or control deficiencies
  • Monitor and adapt governance arrangements as needed

 

Your profile:

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in brokerage, trading, or placing of debt instruments
  • University degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of fixed income markets, trade execution, and MiFID II framework
  • In-depth understanding of operational, financial, and post-trade processes
  • Experience in liquidity and counterparty risk management
  • Eligible for CSSF approval as an authorised manager (dirigeant agréé)
  • Excellent command of English; French or German is a plus
  • Demonstrated integrity, objectivity, and independence of mind
  • Proven leadership with the ability to shape strategy and governance standards
