You will lead a team of seven and play a key role in the Groups financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.

This position involves close collaboration with various departments and global teams. You will report directly to the Head of Financial Reporting, Credit, Risk, Tax, and Trade, based in the London office.

 

 

Your Responsibilities

 

1-Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee all financial activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial data.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with international accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze key metrics, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Liaise with the Commercial organization on the credit risk management, on the pricing and payment terms.
  • Responsible for the SoX/RCM/internal controls for the Luxembourg entity.

   2-Accounting & Compliance

  • Supervise accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance (anti-corruption, trade sanctions, ICC, ISBP) with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and tax laws.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and tax filings.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to ensure effective risk management.

   3- Trading Finance Support:

  • Manage financial aspects of trading activities, including pricing, profitability analysis, and financial risk management.
  • Provide financial oversight and advice on trading strategies, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Ensure team is executing transactions with pre-set turnaround times and SLAs, review dept processes with an objective to ensure smooth workflow within the dept, effective communication to all stakeholders, reduce turnaround times and achieve costs and efficiency targets.
  • Track and report on trading performance, margins, and the financial impact of trading activities.
  • Develop and implement financial models for forecasting and analyzing trading volumes and margins.
  • Liaising with Treasury for Finance activities including cash management, hedging, lending, etc.

   4- Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Lead the budgeting process, working closely with senior management to establish financial targets and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to project future trading and accounting performance.

      5-Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments such as operations, legal, and strategy to ensure alignment of financial and business goals.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership, enabling data-driven decision-making.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of external and internal audits of the Luxembourg entity.

   6-Leadership & Team Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting and finance professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture within the finance function.
  • Ensure continuous professional development and training for team members to stay updated on industry trends and regulations.

 

Your profile

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional qualifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in finance, with a focus on accounting and trade finance in an international environment.
  • Strong understanding of international financial reporting standards and trading regulations.
  • Experience in managing cross-border financial operations and dealing with multi-currency transactions.
  • Proven track record of managing complex financial functions within the trading and accounting space.

 

Your skills

  • Advanced knowledge of accounting software and financial management tools (IFRS, SAP).
  • Strong financial modelling, analytical, and reporting skills.
  • Experience with financial markets, commodities, or trading-related industries.
  • Excellent understanding of trading operations, financial risk management, and compliance.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and business intelligence tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with senior management and cross-functional teams.
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Fluent English, French would be a plus given the international nature of the business
