Our client is a leading independent provider of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and program management services to the insurance and alternative risk financing industry. They are looking for an experienced Senior Actuarial Consultant to provide actuarial support to a range of captive and commercial insurers globally.
This role could be based in either their Luxembourg or Dublin office.
Your areas of responsibility:
- Project Management: Lead and manage Solvency II-related projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery. Work independently or collaborate with account managers and actuarial team members.
- Head of Actuarial Function: Serve as the Head of Actuarial Function (or equivalent) for European-domiciled insurance companies.
- Client Advisory: Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing expert guidance on Solvency II compliance, risk management, capital requirements, and regulatory reporting.
- Reserving Studies: Lead reserving projects for captives and small/medium-sized commercial non-life insurers, communicating findings to stakeholders.
- Risk Assessment & ORSA: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, develop models in line with Solvency II standards, and assist clients in implementing their Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) processes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with finance, risk management, and compliance teams to ensure cohesive Solvency II implementation.
- Training & Development: Share knowledge with colleagues and clients on Solvency II-related topics. Contribute to the Company’s regulatory compliance and training initiatives.
- Actuarial Consulting: Provide consulting on a range of actuarial services, including risk finance optimization and multi-line/year modeling.
- Peer Reviews: Conduct peer reviews on various actuarial deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance
Your profile:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in non-life insurance, consultancy, (re)insurance, or brokerage with a proven track record in Actuarial Function (Solvency II) responsibilities
- Degree in a numerical discipline (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent), fully qualified actuary (IFoA or similar)
- Experience signing independent reserve reviews for commercial lines.
- Programming skills in R, Python, or VBA; and adaptability to new software
- Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills
- Ability to explain complex actuarial concepts to non-specialist
- Fluency in English and French (Italian/German advantageous)
- Problem-solving mindset.
- Trustworthy, precise, and motivated to contribute to a growing business
- Enthusiastic about working in a dynamic environment and open to occasional travel.
- Knowledge of insurance pricing models, IFRS 17 disclosures, offshore regulatory reporting, and experience in modeling / pricing reinsurance contracts are all preferred, though not essential
