Our client is a leading independent provider of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and program management services to the insurance and alternative risk financing industry. They are looking for a motivated Actuarial Consultant to provide actuarial support to a range of captive and commercial insurers globally.
This role could be based in either their Luxembourg or Dublin office.
Your areas of responsibility:
- Work under the guidance of senior actuaries to gain hands-on experience and professional development. Participate in training programs and attend industry events to stay up to date on actuarial trends.
- Assist in managing clients operating under Solvency II legislation, including producing technical provisions, calculating Solvency Capital Requirements, and contributing to risk management strategies.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing expert advice on Solvency II compliance, risk management, and regulatory reporting.
- Support reserving studies for captives and small to medium-sized commercial non-life insurance companies.
- Collaborate with client teams in finance, risk management, and compliance to ensure a seamless approach to regulatory implementation.
- Provide actuarial consulting on risk finance optimization and multi-line/year modelling for captives and commercial insurers.
Your profile:
- At least 2 years of experience in non-life (re)insurance, consultancy, or brokerage, with a strong understanding of Solvency II and reserving requirements.
- Strong academic background with a numerical degree (minimum bachelor’s level) and membership in an actuarial institute (e.g., IFoA or equivalent).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, or VBA.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-actuarial stakeholders.
- Fluency in English and French (Italian or German is an advantage).
- Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and adapt to new actuarial software and tools.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive and creative approach.
- Experience in insurance pricing and development of cost models and tools, as well as knowledge of IFRS 17 and experience in completing disclosures would be preferred but are not essential
