Job Description
Our client is a leading investment firm in Europe with the AIFM in Luxembourg. They currently looking to expand their Group Finance team in Luxembourg with a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Analyst/ Management Accountant. This role presents an excellent opportunity to join a growing investment firm, within a collaborative and supportive team and positive work environment.
The ideal candidate would need to be a strong team player, be flexible, highly motivated, have good attention to detail, strong Excel skills and have excellent communication skills. A familiarity with loan instruments would be an asset
The office is conveniently located in the city center of Luxembourg, easily accessible by tram.
Your Responsibilities
The role will be threefold:
Management Accounting (50%)
- Preparing and processing journal entries (e.g. booking of invoices, payments, other accounting documents),
- Booking of bank statement and reconciling of cash accounts,
- Reconciling General ledger accounts
- Preparation of Luxembourg AIFM statutory accounts in accordance with Luxembourg GAAP,
- Preparation of Luxembourg AIFM quarterly accounts in accordance with Luxembourg GAAP
- Preparation of Oversees Group entities annual financial reporting
- Assisting with quarterly financial regulatory reporting to the CSSF
- Monitoring on a regular basis the annual budgets for selected companies,
- Preparation of cash flow forecasts and monitoring forecasts versus actual cash flows,
- Assist in the preparation of P&L forecasts
- Preparation of VAT returns
- Assisting with the coordination of audit processes by providing/collecting requested documentation, explanation and calculation. Providing ad-hoc reports as required.
Valuation review (25%)
- Assisting the fund valuations team with monthly and quarterly valuation reviews
- Review valuation memos prepared internally and from third parties
- Prepare valuation recommendation overviews for the AIFM valuation committee
- Assess appropriateness of changes to valuation models and assist in preparing update to valuation committee for model validation
- Assist with due diligence review of valuation team and external support providers
Oversight & Reporting (25%)
- Reviewing of Luxembourg funds and related entities quarterly and annual statutory accounts prepared by service providers in accordance with Luxembourg GAAP
- Reviewing and reconciling the NAV, TB and GL reports prepared and provided by the service providers
- Reconciling approved valuations to investment portfolio included in NAV
- Preparing analytical reviews of funds NAV evolution
- Assist with preparation of regular reporting to the AIFM senior management and board
Your Profile
- Degree in any of the following: accounting and finance, computer sciences IT engineering, mathematics.
- Approx. 1-3 years of experience in an audit or accounting position with a good understanding of accounting principles and alternative fund operations
- A professional accountant qualification would be an advantage. The company supports studies towards professional qualification (ACCA).
- Familiarity with valuation approaches (income, market)
- Knowledge of local regulatory requirements for an AIFM (CSSF Circular 18/698) and Luxembourg SCSps and RAIFs
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Excellent MS Office skills – Word, Excel, Powerpoint•
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Fluent written and spoken English is a must
