Position Senior Credit Risk  Analyst - Corporate Banking

Second line of Defense

 

The responsibility of the Credit Review & Administration Team is to supervise the Bank's risk-taking actions. This function plays a crucial role as part of the second line of defense.

The objectives of Credit Review & Administration Team are to recognize, evaluate, manage, monitor, and report both the risks associated with the Bank's operations and the risks arising from the external environment within the boundaries of the Bank's Risk Appetite. Additionally, our aim is to establish a strong risk framework that enables us to effectively respond to unforeseen risks.

 

As the Senior Credit Risk Analyst, role will involve offering unbiased credit assessments for both standard and structured loan transactions submitted by the front office and monitoring functions at the bank.

Responsibility to monitor the credit worthiness of the corporate loan portfolio and counterparties, ensuring compliance with the bank's guidelines and procedures.

Involved in reviewing legal documents, contributing to the internal rating process, and shaping credit risk policies and procedures.

 

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Assess, produce the full credit risk analysis deck and provide opinions and recommendations on new debt operations;
  • Validate counterpart ratings and credit limits;
  • Collaborate with team members and departments to mitigate credit risks in transactions;
  • Review legal documentation from a credit risk standpoint
  • Propose security/collateral requirements for new operations/transactions;
  • Maintain compliance with limits for counterparts, sectors, and specific transaction types;
  • Stay updated on developments in the bank portfolio and report to the Team leader, related departments and/or Management;
  • Verify the quality and accuracy of credit risk information/data in IT systems;
  • Address credit risk inquiries from within the bank and offer solutions
  • Guide junior staff in credit risk processes;
  • Improve procedures, support systems, methodologies, and tools;
  • Advise on complex credit risk issues and policy initiatives;
  • Assist in communication with external regulators and auditors;
  • Regularly review and adapt credit risk policies and procedures.
  • Calculate the impairments of the bank’s credit portfolio

 

Knowledge & experience

 

  • +7 years of relevant professional experience in corporate credit risk assessment
  • Experience in post lending management and ESG assessment
  • Knowledge of impairment calculation according to IFRS9
  • Familiarity with financial markets, financing, and risk mitigating structures
  • Knowledge of legal documentation and risk issues (e.g. LMA a, credit mitigating features)
  • Fluency in both English and Chinese is a must. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail
  • Promotes a culture of risk management and mitigation
  • Identifies and escalates significant risks and incidents
  • Quick grasp of complex issues with effective communication
  • Ability to challenge current practice and suggest new ways of working
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
