Senior Fund Controller – Private Equity
Our client is a leading independent private equity firm focused on infrastructure investments.
They have a strong track record of successful investments across Europe and North America, and are known for their active approach to asset management. They are currently seeking a talented and driven individual to join their Luxembourg team as a Senior Fund Controller.
Your responsibilities:
- Managing and overseeing the accurate maintenance of accounting records, including cashbook entries and all quarter end journals for the vehicles in your area of responsibility.
- Reviewing the reconciliation of Balance Sheet and P&L accounts, including intercompany accounts and bank reconciliation.
- Oversee and review the computation of the net asset value on a quarterly basis for the vehicles in your scope.
- Oversee and review the preparation of drawdown and distribution notices.
- Oversee in the preparation of the semi-annual financial report and annual financial statements for the vehicles in your scope, with a focus on ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Supervising and guiding the team responsible for quarterly investor reporting preparation.
- Review year-end files and acting as the main point of contact for auditors during the audit process.
- Handling complex query resolution with the custodian bank or similar entities, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolutions.
- Spearheading the preparation of comprehensive and well-structured answers to various queries from investors, providing accurate and detailed information.
Your profile:
- Qualified accountant, holding a recognized Accountancy qualification and/or educated to degree level in a finance related discipline with previous fund accounting experience;
- 10+ experience within the fund industry (private equity sector would be a plus);
- Strong written and oral communication skills;
- Candidate must have a good knowledge of the English;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office, particularly Excel
- Good working knowledge of fund accounting under Luxembourg GAAP (IFRS would be a plus);
- Ability to build and develop relationships with internal/external stakeholders as well as previous experience working with auditors;
- Good attention to detail and reaching high-level quality standards is your main goal (mandatory);
- You work with flexibility and are a strong team player.
- Curious, willing to learn, well organized, autonomous, solution driven and proactive.
