The Country HR Officer (CHRO) -International


Client: Global leading International Private Banking group with European HQ in Luxembourg


Role Overview: 

We are seeking a seasoned Country HR Officer (CHRO) to lead the HR team and manage department operations for our client. This role integrates industry expertise and sets standards for others to follow, requiring commercial awareness, excellent communication, and strong diplomacy skills. You will play a critical role in aligning HR strategies with business objectives and managing a team responsible for performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, and more.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Deliver comprehensive HR consulting services, including staffing, talent management, compensation, and employee engagement.
  • Resolve complex HR issues impacting business segments or functional areas.
  • Partner with regional HR and business leaders to implement HR strategies and programs.
  • Collaborate with HR specialists in areas such as Compensation, Resourcing, and Learning & Development.
  • Attract and retain top talent, defining career paths and coaching leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies, managing risk and safeguarding the firm's reputation.
  • Lead HR initiatives, focusing on process improvement and efficiency.




  • Degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7+ years in a similar position in Banking & Finance in Luxembourg
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Proven HR delivery and project management skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of HR's business value.
  • Experience in a complex, matrix organization with a remote HR model.
  • Exceptional consultation, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to embrace change and drive strategic HR initiatives.
  • Team player with a proactive attitude, valuing diversity and inclusivity.
