Assistant Manager Finance

Anderson Wise is delighted to present this excellent opportunity for an aspiring finance professional to develop their skill set and experience by joining a leading global Investment Firm covering private equity, real assets, and credit strategies.

You will join the finance team supporting the Global Credit operations in Luxembourg. You will assist on the day-to-day transactions of various investments moving through the structure, directly reporting to the Associate Vice President.

Your responsibilities:

Accounting duties & responsibilities (95%)

  • Review of financial statements prepared by external accounting servicer
  • Effectively liaise and communicate with the legal team in Luxembourg to share information in relation to operations, as well as ensure the external accounting servicer has the ability to comprehend legal documentation supporting investment transactions
  • Preparation of distribution templates (including debt instrument redemptions calculations, shares redemption calculations)
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of the indirect and direct tax returns prepared by external tax advisors
  • Review invoices before submitting for payment
  • Recording of daily bookkeeping and processing of payments and deal related cash flows
  • Assist the manager on specific tasks, including investment structuring and deal closings
  • Work on monthly reporting to NY and the preparation of statutory financial statements
  • Preparation/review of periodic reporting to the Luxembourg central bank where applicable
  • Coordinating and dealing with year-end audits under the supervision of the manager
  • Intercompany account reconciliation
  • Review the day-to-day operations of companies and answer to controllers’ requests
  • Be an important link between management and junior staff
  • Be responsible for the quality of the work and documents produced and submitted for management review
  • Coach and supervise the daily work of junior staff

Various current and ad-hoc reports/project (5%)

  • Assist in a wide variety of projects as assigned; and
  • Other reasonably related duties as assigned

Your Profile:

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of Luxembourg accounting and legal environment, tax knowledge is a plus
  • Strong organisational skills and detail-oriented
  • Fluent in English, French or German a plus
  • Knowledge of Lux GAAP, IFRS a plus
  • Ability to prioritise workload, multi-task and produce high-quality work with a hands-on approach to solving problems
  • Ability to meet ad-hoc requests from multiple people
  • Energetic, passionate, and positive can-do attitude
  • Ability to adapt to new environments and subjects and acquire new skills
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and oral
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Strong sense of responsibility
