(Senior) Tax Associate – Operational Tax

 

This is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly growing Private Equity / Venture Capital investor within a dynamic and multicultural work environment. Your responsibilities:

 

Under the supervision of the Head of Tax and the Tax Manager, you will assist in various workstreams including but not limited to:

  • Assist with review of the Luxembourg corporate tax returns (coordinate with the external tax advisors and lead the communication, review the respective tax returns prepared)
  • Assist with review of all fund investor reporting in the US/ UK/ Germany (providing the external advisors with all the required information, further coordination and review the reporting forms prepared)
  • Monitor any ad-hoc tax filings required (e.g. US “check-the-box” election) and liaising with the external tax advisors in this respect
  • Coordinate the external tax advisors in regard to preparation of all the tax filings required and ensure all the tax fillings are performed within the deadlines
  • Coordinate the external tax advisors with respect to FATCA/CRS qualification of all the relevant companies involved as well as respective filing.
  • Prepare/review relevant FATCA/CRS forms needed by third parties and maintain the archive
  • Assist with review of VAT compliance (coordination with the external tax advisors and review of the suggested VAT treatment as well as VAT returns)
  • Preparation of tax provisions
  • Assist with the various ad-hoc tax queries related to deals (thus, there is a possibility to learn the deal process and all the deals related tax matters as well as be partially involved into tax advisory side of the work)
  • Support in dealing with operational tax queries
  • Develop/prepare various checklists to monitor the relevant tax points (e.g. deals tax checklist)
  • Prepare the tax package materials for the board
  • Maintain the tax archives (covering all the tax workstreams on deal-by-deal basis and related to Luxembourg companies)
  • Assist with tracking of all the companies records (tax advances/ tax assessments/ tax returns)
  • Cooperation with the tax authorities (if necessary)
  • Assist with implementation and use of software (Anaplan) to track tax related workstreams
  • Assist with any other ad-hoc projects from time to time.

 

 

Your profile:

 

  • 2-4 years of relevant working experience with specialization in operational tax matters (e.g. at Big 4 companies/law firms or fund administrators)
  • Working experience with foreign investor reporting is considered as a strong advantage
  • Good understanding of the accounting and tax principles
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (knowledge of any other relevant tool is a plus)
  • CSL diploma in Luxembourg taxation is a plus
  • Fluency in English (knowledge of French is a plus)
  • Pro-active and independent with problem-solving mind
  • Ability to work within deadlines
