SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL

Private Bank - Luxembourg

 

International Private Bank based in Luxembourg is looking to hire a Senior Legal Counsel.

Position key responsibility is to manage the Bank’s various legal matters, cross-border regulations, credit, various transactions, and ensure overall effective legal advice, support and guidance to the Bank in its day-to-day activities.

 

Your responsibilities:

 

  1. Be the Senior Legal Counsel in a team with the Head of Legal department and 2 colleagues
  2. Providing legal advice and guidance for resolving the Bank’s day-to-day legal issues, by giving advice to the Bank, its divisions and employees on matters of law and legal protection.
  3. Establishing legal documentation requirements in line with applicable laws and regulations.
  4. Drafting documents and contracts with different partners and clients in accordance with both local and international laws and regulations.
  5. Liaising with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken.
  6. Handling of potential legal disputes/litigation.
  7. Preparing protocols, claims and counterclaims to regulators and/or courts.
  8. Assisting the Bank in judicial sittings and vindicating its rights and interests.
  9. Continuously monitoring (new) legal requirements and obligations.

 

Your profile:

 

  1. Advanced Law Degree (Masters), Banking & Capital markets orientation.
  2. At least 6-8 years of experience at a law firm or a Bank, company within the wealth management sector
  3. Knowledge of European banking regulations
  4. Strong experience in Luxembourg legal sphere, or direct equivalent
  5. Fluency in English is mandatory. French or other languages skills are highly appreciated
  6. Excellent communication and writing skills
  7. Strong team orientation
