Risk Manager International Alternative Asset Management Firm

This alternative asset management firm is one of the main players in its field, delivering high-performance investments and generating long-term development. The Luxembourg office is medium-size and offer an international and dynamic environment with great work atmosphere. As the activity is growing, our client is seeking to add a Risk Manager to their Fund Management team.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee risk management function and operating framework
  • Define and develop the risk management and investment compliance strategy and framework
  • Responsible for the identification, monitoring and mitigation of risks associated with the funds’ underlying investments
  • Responsible for monitoring investment compliance, including maintaining appropriate policies and procedures
  • Define and develop internal audit framework
  • Define and develop the internal control framework and responsible for its implementation and reporting to management
  • Define and develop the conflict of interest framework and responsibility for its implementation, monitoring and oversight
  • Define and develop the valuation policy and responsible for its implementation, monitoring and oversight
  • Review and oversight of regulatory filings
  • Responsible for the preparation and presentation of the periodic risk management report to the Board
  • Responsible for the oversight and management of delegated functions

Your profile:

  • Minimum 5-6 years of relevant experience in fund management, risk management, within private equity/debt, with private debt knowledge preferable
  • Good knowledge of alternatives fund industry, structures and regulation (including AIFMD)
  • CAIA, CFA, ACCA, ACA or other relevant qualification is beneficial
  • Management experience is required
  • Operates in an organised, structured and efficient manner with an appropriate focus on detail
  • Remains flexible and demonstrates the ability to prioritise work
  • Driven, proactive and hands-on approach
  • Applies a commercial mindset
  • Remains composed under pressure
  • Collaborative and team-orientated whilst still being able to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Fluent English is required and an additional European language is advantageous
