For an International Bank with a strong presence in Luxembourg and an ambitious growth strategy, we are looking for a Senior Operations Manager

An ideal candidate would be able to perform complex responsibilities with a team of 20 people and support the Head of Operations in all aspects of their activities: Credit administration, custody and treasury, structured commodities finance, reconciliation, and overall back office.


The position will report to the Head of Operations.

Your responsibilities

  • Daily management of Funds Transfer / Transaction Processing & Credit Administration (including absences planning, staff appraisals and coaching)
  • Supervise processing transactions of Treasury Department: control, validation and follow up of a. o. FX, FX SWAPS, MM and REPO transactions.
  • Supervise processing and follow up of securities transactions and settlement.
  • Control and monitoring of regulatory reporting under MIFID and EMIR.
  • Review of various reports produced by the Department.
  • Participate in projects triggered by legislative changes.
  • Participate in the implementation of new services/products – preparation of the related documentation, testing, modifications to the existing procedures in coordination with other departments.
  • Supervise the management of the intra-day control of Nostro balances and allocation of cash.
  • Oversee intra-day and daily reports relative to transactions initiated by the Treasury Department – internal and external reporting.
  • Assist FI Department during the phase of establishing the relationship with other banks,
  • Interactions with other Group’s entities
  • Interactions with external suppliers and service providers
  • Assisting in establishing and updating department procedures
  • Organizing and supervising the testing and improving the process design related to Core Banking System
  • Coordinating the tasks related to facility management.

Your profile

  • University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Between 7-10 years of work experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of securities settlement rules and corporate actions.
  • Proven management experience
  • Knowledge of the legal framework relative to banking activity in Luxembourg
  • Practical knowledge of European settlement systems (STEP1, Target2, SEPA)
  • Proven management experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Result oriented, can-do spirit and proactive.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines,
  • Teamwork spirit, punctual, discipline, self-control, innovation, positive thinking,
  • Knowledge in AVALOQ is an asset
  • Fluency in English is a must, French would be considered an advantage.
